Corona Virus (COVID 19) Update
With the impact of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we, like many of you are reviewing the changing landscape in relation to the impact of the Coronavirus and the Government advice. We aim to support you and continue to provide OH service as well as preventing spread of the virus, whilst we continue our operations as normally as possible.
We are taking a number of different steps to ensure that we have robust plans in place to protect our business continuity. The following points have been agreed upon and enforced:
- All employees have been and are continually been made aware of the government health and travel guidelines, this includes the latest guidance release 13/03/20 – If you develop a high temperature of 37.8 degrees or more and/or develop a New Continuous cough, You must self-isolate for seven days and not come in to work.
- Service delivery is being reviewed and in certain cases, remote appointments are being conducted rather that face-to-face
- Any employees that have travelled to a Category 1 area must adhere to the 14 day self-isolation protocols on their return.
- Employees who have recently travelled to a Category 2 Country will be monitored and where necessary be asked to work from home or self-isolate for a period of 14 days.
- We are not allowing any travel to either Category 1 or Category 2 countries. A list of these countries can be found on the Gov.net website.
- Clients will be given the choice as to whether they would wish to conduct any meeting via video link/telephone or face to face. We will work with your requirements.
- We are keeping our Clinical service partners updated on the latest developments and changes to their own clinical or procedural service delivery.
The World Health Organisation has declared the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a global pandemic due to the spread of the disease in multiple countries around the world at the same time.
Organisations are encouraged to have a management plan for dealing with the Coronavirus to adhere to their statutory duty of care for health and safety of their employees and to ensure they can cope with potential business risks that may arise due to absences within the organisation but also within the supply chain.
We are awaiting further announcements from the Government as to when the country is going to be asked to take more stringent action, but we suspect this is imminent.
