My name is Grace Dobbin and I have just joined Valentine Occupational Health as a coordinator. I am very new to the OH industry, coming from an education background, meaning my first few weeks were challenging but also very rewarding!

Responsibilities: Processing OH bookings and maintaining client health surveillance requirements, up-selling additional services, as well as liaising with clinicians, clients and client employees.
Personal hobbies/interests: Cooking, crafting, painting and writing.

Challenges I faced as a new starter– and overcame!
I started my new role with very limited knowledge of administration systems as well as occupational health. I hadn’t worked on a computer since leaving university yet had taught myself some basic things about using Outlook and Excel.
However, I was supported by the wider team since day 1! Now I am confident in using most of the systems that VOH utilises, such as Dropbox, Xero and Orchid, and have even made a few booking calls! I am very grateful for the opportunity Valentine has given me to learn more skills as well as enhance my personal and professional development. I look forward to building my career here at Valentine and hopefully speaking more to clients and clinicians in the future.
